Some Weekend Goings-on

1st event--Happy Birthday to my sweetie!

Dessert with our parents

He is 4 years old!

I think I appreciate and love my husband more this year than ever before. Last year he didn't get a very good birthday celebration because we were in the middle of a health crisis. (In fact, said health crisis didn't get sorted out for another 5 months.) Have you ever had a moment in your life where you thought you were going to lose the person you loved most? (I know my mom and my sister-in-law have.) I had a while to think about what life would be like without Alan. I am so grateful that I still have him in my life and to keep forever. I love you so much, Sweetie!

2nd event--The Buddy's new haircut!

Before (you can't ever be smiling in "before" pictures--just check all the magazines)

After

Yay, Mommy! No more long bangs!

So, I finally did it. I cut Jared's hair (with Alan's help). Maybe the last straw was when someone at church yesterday assumed he was a girl. Doesn't he look more boyish now? Just as an update on The Buddy: both of his top teeth are coming in, and yesterday he waved "bye-bye" for the first time! (He waved bye-bye to Daddy again this morning.) He is ADORABLE!

Happy Birthday to Alan! Great job on the haircut. When Christina's hair was so long it was getting in her eyes all the time I had gazillions of people at the store tell me i "HAD" to cut her hair. It made me not want to cut it even more. But he looks cute. I can't wait to see his wave! And I'M SO GLAD that Alan is doing well now, and that everything seems to be going so smoothly now! We were scared for you both too!

Happy Birthday to Alan! I hope you guys got our message. We left it at 8:50 in the morning, so we HAVE to get the credit for being the first, right? right? With Kevin's grandpa, if you didn't call before 9:00 am, the birthday wish didn't count. Let's just say that's programmed us pretty well.

I am so glad Alan's health is under control. What a scary experience for both of you. Makes me glad that there's good medicine for that stuff, and at least a handful of good doctors out there (among some lousy ones).

Love the new 'do. Buddy's looking sharp.

I know what you mean about being scared to lose someone, or lose yourself, when we were married just two months I had a heart attack!!! Kevin saved my life, and it took me a long time to comprehend what could have happened. It just makes us all more grateful for the loved ones in our lives. You two truly look happy and your little boy is adorable!!!!!!!!

Jenny, I just have to say that I love the way you guys call Jared "The Buddy" (with capitalizations, of course). He's so cute, and even cuter with his hair cut!
