and also a beautiful sonnet that he had written for me on his lunch breaks at work. (For another example of one of Alan's sonnets, click here.)
Another year has quickly passed since two
Were sealed as one. In this short time the love
I have has changed, improved, and grown for you.
The joy that I will share with you above
Is happiness that I do not deserve!
The question that I often ask is why
You gave your hand to me. But I shall serve
You, love you, hold you, keep you, and shall try
With my whole heart to dedicate my life
To you. I vow to change, improve, and grow
To be the man who can deserve a wife
As wonderful as you. My love, please know
That I am yours and that I'll always cleave
To you; this truth you simple must believe.
I have the best husband ever!
