We had a wonderful little birthday party for Jared. We started out by having a yummy dinner with both sets of grandparents. Then we invited Jared's Stout aunts and uncles over for dessert and present opening. This little boy got spoiled!
Ok, I have to brag about this Elmo cake that Alan and I made. I'm not usually a creative or crafty person, but we are rather proud of how this cake turned out. The red is frosting (not licorice), the nose is a plastic Easter egg, and the eyes are powdered mini donuts with Junior mints. Jared loved it; he is still asking every day to see the Elmo cake (it doesn't exist anymore).

I can't believe he is two! And well done on the cake... I need some cake-making skills.
Happy birthday to the Buddy! I love the Elmo cake. Will you make me one someday? Or maybe a Cookie Monster cake (then I'll finally have that Cookie Monster I've been stealing from you your whole life).
It makes me sad that is is so hard to keep up with all the nieces and nephews birthdays on our side, since each child really is so unique and special to me. But I am really glad you posted this so I can see all the fun goings-on!

You crafty Latter-day Saint, you! The cake looks yummy, yummy. But now you'll have to keep up the tradition for next year!
Happy Birthday, Jared! Good luck with the 2-year-old attitude and budding personality and independence!
